“Riviera” Park

It is the largest recreation park in Sochi, presenting landscape and garden-park culture monument. Situated on the right bank of the Sochi river with the area of 14,7 ha, the “Riviera” Park welcomes its visitors with age-old trees greenery, flower luxury of rose gardens and flowerbeds at any season of the year. Altogether 240 kinds of trees and bushes grow in the park. In summer shady pine and chestnut alleys become a popular place for walks of townspeople and Sochi resort guests. In winter benches and quiet secluded nooks attract those who prefer quiet rest and solitude.

During vacation season numerous cafйs, bars and restaurants, recreation centers are at guests' disposal. Children’s adventure playgrounds and park attractions are open year round. 56 fascinating attractions are designed to suit all ages. They are: “Ferris wheel” with panoramic view of Sochi resort, extreme attractions “Corsair”, “American slides in a Russia way”, mysterious labyrinth “Castle of horror”. For those who are keen on high-speed races there are «Autodrome” and “Karting” .

Festivals, Russian stars shows are held in the “Riviera” Park Green Theatre. 
There are modern Sports Facilities with tennis courts, volleyball and basketball pitches in the park.

Special place of interest of “Riviera” is Friendship glade, where magnolias planted by famous politicians, Russian and American cosmonauts, who visited the city, are growing. A  pond in the form of the Black Sea with underwater inhabitants and water lilies is near by.

The most popular place for relaxation in Sochi - the “Riviera” Park has a long history. In 1883, a merchant of the top guild from Moscow, honorary citizen by birth Vasily Alexeevich Khludov purchased the estate “Razdolnoye” lands. He laid a decorative park with exotic plants there. In Soviet times this tradition was continued by leading landscape architects and workers, thanks to their efforts “Riviera” park has its present look.  By its Centenary anniversary in 1998 the “Riviera” Park was totally reconstructed.

 

“Luna-Park”

Located in Navaginskaya Street, near Sochi City Hall

This popular recreation park is centrally situated, close to Kurortny prospect, the Sea port and Aqua Park “Mayak”. Entertaining attractions, children railway, “Autodrome”, seesaws for the smallest visitors are open  year around.

 

Adler Recreation Park

Located: 1, Romashek Str. Adler district, Sochi

Recreation Park of Adler district with  area of 2ha was opened  May 2, 1980. There are numerous attractions, sports grounds, open-air concert stages. The Park pas extra grounds in Vesyoloe village of Adler district.

Lazarevsky District Recreation and Entertainment Park

Located centrally in Lazarevskoe resort settlement close to the quay. Visitors are met with shady alleys, exotic trees and bushes: mighty plane trees, evergreen magnolias, blossoming rhododendrons.   Attractions, Ferris wheel, children railway, entertainment and play centers are located on the very beach.

Khosta District Recreation Park

Located centrally in Khosta settlement. A compact play ground with shooting ranges and arcade machines is surrounded by majestic plane trees. There are numerous cafes and restaurants around.

ENDROLOGICAL PARKS AND SQUARES

 

 

Frunze Park

One of the oldest resort parks in Sochi is located on 2,7 ha of Khosta district seaside zone. Before the Revolution it was named Vereshaginsky, later Ermolovsky. Tennis courts, croquet, gymnastics grounds, flowerbeds, paths and alleys have been laid in it. In thirties it was renamed to Frunze Park. It has a Summer Theatre and is a Mauritanian arbour on a terrace by the sea. A new place of interest - a unique cascading fountain has appeared after recent reconstruction.

“Uzhniye Kultury” Park (“Southern cultures” park)

Located on the Mzimta River left bank, in coastal part of Adler district on 19ha.

Regel’s design in 1910. During almost century-long history more than 5,5 thousands of different species of exotic and rare plants from all over the world were collected in the park.  The park is a monument of landscape art and it is considered to be one of the best in Russia in its planning, beauty and flora variety.  Here you can see a three-hundred old branchy oak, admire blossoming Japanese cherry (sakura), walk along the Chinese fan palms alley and then feed ducks, haughty swans, swimming in ponds and lakes covered with water lilies and lotuses. Plants in “Uzhniye Kultury” Park bloom one after another all year round.
