The Little mountain country named Krasnaya Polyana is comfortably located in 40 kilometers from the coast at a height of 600 meters above the sea level, at the foot of the Main Caucasus mountain range, and surrounded by mountains of 3000 meters high. In December, when autumn weather is still staying at Sochi coast, real Russian winter reigns in Krasnaya Polyana. But even at this time you can spend your vacation with comfort and pleasure. Warm sea-breeze penetrates through mountain canyons from the sea shore to the snow-bound mountain range. Krasnaya Polyana is the only place in Russia, where one could find such favorable conditions for winter recreation. Krasnaya Polyana is the modern ski resort where trails are equipped with all of necessities for mountain skiing. The skiing season lasts from November to the second half of June. Ski trails are rolled by snowcats daily. There are rescue service guards on a duty always ready in case of emergency. A special avalanche alert service provides safety to all mountain-skiers. There are several ski complexes in Krasnaya Polyana. One of them – Alpica-Service – was opened in 1993. The complex has equipped trails, general length of 25 km. On the Aibga mountain the company has build a lifting system which serves the highest in Russia elevation change overfall of heights in 1698 meters. It has 5 lines and lifts guests from 540 meters to 2238 meters above the sea level. From the 4th level ground, on height of 2238 meters you can enjoy the unique view of Caucasus alpine range of 100 km around. At the third level there is a chair lift for beginners. In 2008 in the neighborhood of Esto-Sadok settlement a new modern mountain-ski complex Laura has been opened. JSC GAZPROM has built six rope roads on the Psekhako mountain range which are accessible for all comers. To the height of 1436 meters above the sea level skiers are taken by gondola lifting system. At high speed of 6 м\с road traffic gets to 2 thousand people per hour. From the highest point of Psekhako ground 5 rope roads of different types go in different directions. Their overall stretch is about 5 km. Three chair lifts and two rope lifts will deliver active sports lovers to the mountain-ski terrains of different levels of complication within minutes. Laura complex offers 16 terrains for riding, among which there are trails as for beginners as for the professionals of mountain-skiing. Not without reason the slopes of Psekhako mountain ranges have become so attractive to the eminent guests of Laura ski resort. One of the first new trails was trialed by President Vladimir Putin. In February 2007 during the visit of International Olympic Committee estimation commission in Sochi, a final round of Lyjnia Rossii all-Russian competitions was held here. It is planned to extend a mountain-ski complex in 2010 by building second line of rope road which will consist of 8 chairlifts.

Quite soon Krasnaya Polyana will be able to offer new facilities for recreation and all winter sports. The first line of the rope road called «Mountain merry-go-around was opened in Krasnaya Polyana in 2006. New sports and tourist complex will be built by 2010. A project provides for building 20 ski lifting systems including gondola, chair and rope lifts. New terrains more than 70 km long will be rolled on the slopes of the mountains.

«Rosa Khutor is another ski complex which is now being built in Krasnaya Polyana. On the north side of the Aibga mountain range it is planned to build 15 ski lifts and 40 ski terrains with overall stretch of about 60 km. The resort will be able to host more than 10 thousand people a day. In July, 2007 the International Olympic Committee has chosen Sochi for holding Winter games for the first time in our country. New extraordinary opportunities are opening for the settlement lost in the mountain peaks. In 2014 in Krasnaya Polyana there will be held the most spectacular Olympics games in the history of sport.

Krasnaya Polyana mountain-ski resort is already offering to the guests all possible facilities for a valuable rest in mountains and enjoyment of all winter sports. There are many rentals in Krasnaya Polyana, where you can get the complete sets of mountain-ski equipment: snowboards, sledges and snowblades for professionals, beginners and children.

There is a ski school organized for beginners. Professional instructors will teach you how to ski, snowboard or paraglide. We are welcome students of 2 years and older. Experienced instructors will teach you to stand confidently on ski in 3 days and snowboard or paraglide in 1 day.

In the specialized shops you will be able to purchase complete sets of mountain-ski equipment, snowboards, and other sports equipment made by leading brands for active life. Guests are welcomed to come with children. Parents can devote all day to skiing, while children (from 3, 5 to 6 years) will be watched all day by teachers and instructors in the "Kindergarten".

The ski resort is offering a great choice of accommodations. Hotels and tourist centers of Krasnaya Polyana can accommodate more than 3 thousand people at a time. New comfortable hotels, restaurants and entertaining centers are opening every year.
